The Reid's Speed Shop 408 Sidewinder is built for those looking to take their Small Block Ford performance to the next level. Combining increased displacement with a heavy-duty aftermarket engine block and fully forged rotating assembly, the Sidewinder provides a strong, dependable foundation for serious street performance and high-horsepower applications.

At its foundation is a Dart SHP 351 Windsor engine block featuring 351 Cleveland-style splayed four-bolt main caps and a one-piece rear main seal. A 4340 forged steel stroker crankshaft, forged 5140 connecting rods, and DSS forged pistons provide the strength and durability needed for a properly matched performance combination.

Every short block receives professional machine work, careful component preparation, precision measurements, and final assembly. Each engine block is also painted in your choice of color.

Cylinder heads, intake manifold, and other top-end components are not included. Final compression ratio depends on the selected cylinder heads, head gasket specifications, and assembled combination.
