Reid's Speed Shop Hot Rod Packages
The Hot Rod Series is our budget-conscious lineup—built for those looking to bring their engine to life without going overboard on cost.
These packages are carefully put together using proven components from brands like FloTek, Summit Racing, and Edelbrock to deliver solid performance at an affordable price.
The result is a combination that’s fun to drive, easy to live with, and delivers that classic small block look and sound—from crisp thorttle delivery and a buttery smooth idle to a noticeable lope.

Building on the proven foundation of the Hot Rod lineup, these packages feature upgraded components from top-tier brands such as AirFlow Research, ARP, and other performance-focused manufacturers. The result is a more aggressive, higher-output combination designed for those who want more than just a mild street setup.
Each stage within this series steps things up further, offering increased performance, stronger components, and a more pronounced attitude.

Note: Builds are limited to OE roller and retrofit roller valvetrain combinations to ensure reliability and consistent performance.
Why Rebuild Costs Can Vary
Every engine core is different, especially when working with engines that may be several decades old. While some engines only require basic cleaning, inspection, and a light hone to restore the cylinder walls, others may require additional machining due to wear accumulated over years of use.
During the rebuild process, the engine is fully disassembled and critical components such as the cylinder walls, crankshaft, connecting rods, and cylinder heads are carefully inspected and measured by the machine shop.
If cylinder wear, taper, pitting, or ring ridge exceeds acceptable limits, the block may need to be bored and fitted with new oversized pistons to properly restore the engine to reliable operating condition.
Any additional machine work or parts required beyond the base package will always be discussed with the customer and approved before moving forward.
